3 things I know to be true about all preschool gymnastics programs -
1. Forward rolls are not the end goal.
Parents are enrolling their kids in your preschool gymnastics program for the skills alone. The thing they’re looking for—the more important thing—is that their child is connecting with their coach, learning new skills, having fun, staying busy, and making friends. And it all starts on the floor, with your coaches. Which is why child-development training should be a core of your preschool gymnastics coach training program. Coaches need to know HOW kids work before all else.
2. Preschool gymnastics isn’t just cute. It’s strategic.
Okay, so preschool is insanely cute. Is there anything more adorable than seeing a toothy grin and chubby baby toes on a beam? At Happy Gymnastics, we’re all about being strategically cute, focused, and rigorous. That’s why we succeed in all gyms because we know it’s a balance. We call it Intention + Magic. And it’s teachable. Anyone can do it with the right training and education.
3. Preschool gymnastics parents talk.
It only takes one class and one coach to lose your reputation. Equally, it only takes one class for parents to become walking talking billboards for your business. The question is, are your coaches prepared to handle whatever is thrown at them on the floor?
